Algal Bloom Lake Taupo Nov 2020
Testing by the Waikato Regional Council in late October confirmed that the dense algal bloom seen in the areas contained potentially toxic blue-green algal species.
Observation and water testing by WRC, Taupō District Council and Tūwharetoa Māori Trust Board now showed that the bloom had subsided in the affected areas, said the Bay of Plenty District Health Board on Friday.
Despite lifting the warning, the public should always be cautious for signs of algal bloom, the release said. Read more here…
