Statutory Processes: LWAG heard from Contact Energy’s Todd Baldwin at our January 27 meeting who outlined their Geofutures resource consent application (now notified - ref: WRC website & LWAG minutes - link below plus our Latest News section here: ) Submissions close : Friday 25th March 2022 RCsubmissions@waikatoregion.govt.nz.

Farming Issues: Consultation is now open on how the levy on agricultural carbon emissions is calculated and charged. The He Waka Eke Noa committee, who have developed the proposals, are seeking feedback by March in a survey at the hewakaekenoa.nz website. https://hewakaekenoa.nz/your-say/

Science Update: WRC Scientists are preparing State of the Environment reports including for Lake Taupo - we look forward to hosting Thomas Wilding and his team later in 2022
